Harvest's Response to Covid-19

Christian life is fundamentally grounded in a community lifestyle, so this “spacial distancing” thing goes against everything we have been taught. How can we be expected to love one another and care for one another from a distance of at least six feet and more than likely an entire town away? Thankfully, our God that was in control yesterday is the same God that is in control today and will continue to be. The current pandemic of covid-19 is no surprise to Him and He continues to provide ways for Harvest to “gather.” Our first Sunday not gathering at a building together was March 15th. On that day alone, there were over 900 people who had the chance to be reached with the gospel of Jesus. That is 100x more people than we reach on a given Sunday. Technology has it’s downfalls, but it is currently the biggest blessing we have to create community during these times.

At Harvest, we believe in God’s word being the truth and teaching that comes from the Bible. That is why we decided to start an online devotional in the form of a blog here on the website. Pastor Will will be leading and producing content but everyone will have the ability to comment. Think of it like a conversation between all of us as we study scripture together. We pray that this devotional will bless our families and friends during this time and that God’s word would bring peace to these anxious times.

HOW TO COMMENT: This will help the conversation flow as we go through this devotional. Post your comment in the box below and hit “Post Comment.” You will be brought to a popup box where it asks for name, email, and website. YOU ONLY HAVE TO ENTER YOUR NAME. The other information isn’t required. And then hit enter, and you are good to go! Questions you can always call or text Amy Roark at 270-952-4631.
